What We Believe

We are here to help the drivers/transporters by raising the issues that have never or have hardly been raised by others. We are also open to your ideas on new issues and your feedback and support. Many of the topics may not be applicable in your area but still they are applicable in somewhere.

WE BELIEVE
  1. Modern rest area in each provincial jurisdiction equipped with public scale before proceeding to the inspection station.
  2. No forced (Hours of Service) Reset on road, reset at home only, unless driver/company wants. Example if you are forced to sit on the road to reset and then drive. No one can be forced to sleep; there is no control on sleep. Increasing the degree of rest usually upsets everyone.
  3. Driving hours should be counted, not On-Duty hours. As there may be time wasted in loading/unloading peak hours in city, traffic jams, border crossing, inspection and much more. If any driver honestly draws their log book, he/she will reduce up to 40% of income with 40% more harassment. And as a result drivers have to hide the things to follow the law and that we don’t want.
  4. There should be 100 driving hours per week, this will mean the driver can work freely and can drive as many hours as they wish with no worry of shortage. An average driver can drive 13-14 hours per day if they drive relaxed and with peace of mind. We know commercial drivers are way more responsible than non-commercial drivers. They know when to sleep regardless of what hours are left behind. There should be total freedom so they can safely drive on the road. Commercial Vehicle Inspectors should be available to help drivers not to treat them like slaves.
  5. If a driver is willing to follow the law, the commercial vehicle inspector can’t issue them the penalty. Example1: If a driver picked up a trailer with a valid axle weight and in the way it’s more snow piled (on roof and under the trailer) on route and got little heavier, but driver neither started with this situation or wants to break the law. It’s not the driver’s fault, and there should be an exemption of 1000 lbs. in gross. Example 2: Due to high wind-chill/freezing condition and adverse weather conditions driver could not slide the (trailer) axles but good in axle weight, there should be no penalty.
  6. Penalty for serious safety issues: – trailer doors are not securely locked, and doors might open or swing and can be dangerous for others. Driver intentionally doing an insecure act or being negligent, under the influence, etc.
  7. Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspectors will not stop the trucks without a substantial reason i.e. trail, brake indication lights are snow plugged or not working and the following traffic can’t see the signals, but this is also not the negligence, drivers can be advised for that because there may be many cars or vehicles with the same problem.
  8. Wheelbase freedom (within axle weight limits) according to the best load balance for the road safety and equipment increased life.
  9. Govt. Safety issued from any State/Province of United States and should be valid because safety standards are same in both countries. If other states safety not valid then why trucks of that State licensed/Safetied trucks are legal to drive in prohibiting State.
  10. 12 Months Govt. Safety validity in all Jurisdictions (currently 6 months in Manitoba, Canada). Non-Manitoban trucks can have 12 months safety valid in Manitoba, but Manitoban trucks are not valid with 12 months safety.
  11. If a street light bulb burns out, maintenance takes a week or so, but if a truck light burns out, Commercial Vehicle Inspectors nail down truckers which is unethical. No driver wants to drive with burnt bulb. If a car’s bulb is out, there’s no worry! The broken pavements blast the tires and Inspectors come immediately and penalize the drivers right away not to the Govt. concerned dept. who is responsible for repairing.
  12. Most of the Inspectors are harassing the drivers on minor things.
  13. Police/Sheriff stop a vehicle for a solid reason, but these Inspectors harass most of the drivers without any reason.
  14. The majority of accidents (over 90%) are done by light vehicle drivers (Non-Commercial) drivers, so why is there so many restrictions on truckers/commercial drivers? They are professional and can manage their ways.
  15. Trucker laws should be set by truckers. Truckers laws must be made by highly experienced truckers as they also drive the personal/light vehicles.
  16. Commercial Vehicle Inspectors must be experienced truckers but these officers or lawmakers are not truckers and therefore lot of laws on truckers because we know they made the hell for others (truckers) and heaven for self (car drivers).Same safety is required by light/small motor vehicles (at some low degree) but usually no penalty on light vehicle driver i.e. Any bulb out, any glass or windshield has crack, any brake or tire related issues and much more but the lawmakers made the hell (IS or Inspection Stations) for others (truckers) and heaven (no checking and full freedom) for them.
  17. Legal disputes and claims must be handled by Trucking Associations or Boards or those who know the trucking industry. About 90% victims don’t proceed to courts due to lawyer fees and judges not familiar with the industry issues.
  18. Stopping on the road and updating the logbook. Truckers want to avoid stopping unless it’s the last moment even for a washroom or a quick stop because have to mark/flag the log book about the stop. There should be freedom of these minor things.
  19. Drivers are like footballs that are kicked by mostly everyone. Companies want to kill driver’s downtime/waiting time, picks and drops and switches, when at shipper/receiver, most places security staff and shipper/receiver are fed up of drivers at major plants – example Cargill meat plants. And when on road these Inspection Stations waiting for the drivers to nail and finally when frustrated driver reaches home, same thing happens at home because wives are habitual of living alone and doesn’t like any more presence. Hardly someone long-haul trucker family life is happy except exceptional cases. Once I saw a trucker come back to home and his wife came to pick him up and she hugged him, I was very surprised, but later I knew it was payday. By most experience, long haul drivers have no family life and Govt. Laws, and Commercial Vehicle Inspectors are mainly responsible for it.
  20. The trucking (Owner Operators and Company Drivers) contracts must be regulated so that Company/Carrier can’t kill the driver’s downtime, picks, drops, switches, border crossings and wait times which are not covered by labor board.
  21. According to Drivers forecast, there will be shortage of about 400,000 drivers by 2020 and who is responsible for this? Why thousands of people get CDL but avoid driving? These laws and Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection Stations and non-trucking background inspectors are somewhere responsible for this shortage.
  22. Either electronic logbook should not be completely removed or 100 driving hours should be permitted with more freedom for on-road safety. Daily logbooks should be synchronized, and no repetition of information on daily log book if nothing changed from the top part to the lower part or previous day to the following day.
  23. The world is going to downfall due to terrorism everyone is tense, at least Government should help those truckers who fulfills the countries basic needs and putting self on fire by stupid laws.
  24. There are more than 40,000 traffic laws and if someone is asked to drive and make deliveries on time or even some flexible time frame for a year and forced to follow all the 40,000 laws and monitored closely and warned severe penalty for each violation. That driver may not do many violations but due to monitoring that will be tensed and will keep making the mistakes. Can you imagine there that driver will reach? That will reach either to the graveyard or the hospital or can make others reach these places due to monitoring and harassment. That’s what Commercial Vehicle Inspectors are doing. Those states where fewer officers are hired fewer road accidents/hazards and many states are reducing these harassment officers and utilizing this money in other fruitful or constructive projects, not on destructive officers. Instead of penalizing the drivers there should be video format on weigh stations about the violation to learn the bad effects possibilities due to that mistake and instant exam. The driver can leave the weigh station once pass the exam. It will control the illiterate drivers in the industry. If someone doesn’t pass the exam or want’s to leave right away, then a warning should be issued.
  25. Trucking Laws should be re-evaluated every 10 years because road condition changes, vehicle safety and luxury features changes Current driving hours 11/13 are according to older driving trucks which have minimal luxury features, nowadays trucks are just like mobile homes and even way more than that with higher balance and control in adverse conditions but Law are few decade older. Lawmakers are dead, those trucks are dead, and those road conditions are no more. Technology is improved. The science improvement in last 5000 years is equal to last 500 years, equal to 500 years is improved in last 50 years and last 5 years, technology improvement are equal to last 50 years but trucking laws gone more adverse.
  26. Where there are more CMV officers there are more harassment of truckers, because every officer want to present himself as cash cow for the government, and that’s why they focus on (negative) things on truckers (because of 40000 Laws) and nail them down. We know if we focus negative on anything we can find it and if we focus positively we find it all depend on attitude. I think who want to torture others usually join these types of jobs so that they torture other under the name of law and safety regardless how much they implement in their own life.
  27. Due to these Inspection Stations and officers majority of American drivers avoid coming to Canada.
  28. le(otherwise) the people will make this world like hell like it’s not hell now. They never want their slaves freedom because if people/slave is free then those rulers have no value, and they are making money and positions due to slaves or public or drivers. Many jurisdictions of the world has no or very little Commercial Vehicle Inspectors and Stations and hardly there are road hazards and less than more inspectors jurisdictions, because they want their roads safe that’s why don’t start CMVIS. Nowadays many states are cutting the cost of CMVIS and harassment to commercial drivers and using the same money in improving infrastructure. If Govt. wants roads safer then these road hazards should be removed or reduces or minimize their operation and services because drivers also have the right to peace and peaceful driving to follow the safety.
  29. The study shows if people drive with peace and relax the mind, the road hazards and accidents can be reduced by 50%.
  30. Food saves our life and food are made to survive, but excessive consumption of food is dangerous for the life. Same way laws are made for the Public, Property, and Information safety, but excessive enforcement of laws is dangerous. If law enforcement officer enforce all 40000 Law on car/light vehicle drivers, then there will be no room in hospital and cemeteries.
Our word freedom never means to break the laws in own way but safe equipment safe driving at best we can do and drive for peace within legal limits, BUT FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
World Truckers Board is open to your ideas, and we need your support.
